Helping Your Lawyer Protect Your Business

It's no secret that businessmen don't like lawyers. We know that. All we want to do is help, by helping you help yourself. We want you to let us know how we can best do it.

HELPING YOUR LAWYER PROTECT YOUR BUSINESS

FACT #1: Contact a lawyer to make sure you are where you need to be. Whether you are in business for yourself or with partners, legal counsel at the beginning can prevent more expensive and stressful legal problems later.

FACT #2: One dissatisfied customer or employee can cost your business thousands (or millions!). By keeping counsel on the front end, you can avoid massive potential legal expenses later. Almost all legal problems can be prevented  - well, that is if they are addressed now.

FACT #3: When drafting business contracts you can generally contract for any lawful activity. Contracts are almost always enforceable.  You need your own terms and conditions with your customers and suppliers. If there is a dispute, you can save the bottom line by preparing documents favorable to your business.

FACT #4: You do not need a written contract for an employee in Tennessee; however, a properly written employee handbook can prevent all kinds of costly actions against your company. Getting the rules set now will do wonders in saving your business from frivolous law suits and bad employee behavior.

FACT #5: Having an attorney on-call actually saves money. Diffusing disputes before they grow into litigation is in every business' interest. Having someone you can involve early work efficiently towards avoiding costly (and unnecessary) litigation.

FACT #6: If there are debts owed to your business, there are other options than seeking to collect the debt yourself or turning the matter over to a collection agency, You can hire an attorney to seek collection, on a contingency basis. Many times collection agencies are eventually forced to turn collections over to their attorneys to obtain a judgment. At The Bach Law Firm, you can eliminate the middleman and have an aggressive attorney who will take the steps necessary to obtain the money owed to you. Just because we are attorneys does not mean we will immediately attempt to litigate the debt. First we look to more informal attempts to collect. However, litigation is always available if those attempts are not productive.
